The 2025 DSI Full-Time Call includes information on eligibility, evaluation, award categories, initiating a review for DSI, and the submission and review processes. All documents linked in the call letter are also listed and linked below.
Applications must be submitted to the dean or their designee (as instructed by the dean) on or before May 8, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. and should also be copied to the Office of the Provost at dsi@newpaltz.edu.
Departmental committee (optionally) and chair recommendations will be made available to the Dean for review by May 31, 2026.
The DSI application for part-time faculty will appear shortly with a separate announcement.
The Committee on Salary Increase includes comments on the accomplishments of faculty as part of their recommendations for a DSI award. A majority of the criteria reflect those comments, which are based on an established understanding of baseline expectations, what it means to exceed baseline expectations, and what constitutes exemplary performance. Additional criteria were added because they reflect institutional priorities, e.g., professional development-related activities.
By performing the work promised as part of the sabbatical, you have met baseline requirements for that semester. Your sabbatical report should confirm this.
Please enter "sabbatical," specify the applicable term(s), and reference your sabbatical report.
Faculty on paid medical leave are not expected to work, so "baseline" is no work. Please enter "paid medical leave" and the starting and ending dates of the leave to document the period of time during which your faculty obligation was suspended.
