The Office of Field Experiences places students in the Mid-Hudson Valley, Lower-Hudson Valley, Capital Region, NYC, Long Island, and Alaska. We work with hundreds of school districts and we consider multiple factors when placing candidates. These include, but are not limited to: fieldwork placements, where candidates will be living, districts in a high need setting, and where university supervisors are available. Student teachers will complete two, 8-week placement experiences in different districts. For placements outside of these regions, program coordinators and program chairs must be consulted.
Students are responsible for their own transportation to fieldwork and student teaching placements and must be prepared to commute up to 45 miles, one way, to these placements.
