What are the benefits of an internship?

An internship is guided work experience that enables you to put your classroom learning into action. Internships give you the opportunity to test your knowledge, learn what it is like to perform the tasks of a prospective career path, work with colleagues and a supervisor, and expand your capabilities. Internships can help you solidify your career aspirations, or help you realize that the career path you thought you wanted is not what you expected!

As a School of Business student, an internship may qualify as your Applied Learning Experience, a graduation requirement.

How to Enroll in a credit-bearing internship:

Undergraduates: Credit for an internship is earned through the Fieldwork in Business course, BUS494. You cannot enroll in that course until your internship is approved. For eligibility and enrollment instructions, review: Internship Approval Process

Graduate Students: Contact Assistant Dean Aaron Hines: hinesa@newpaltz.edu for more information
