Lori Danuff-McKean (English) retired from a 22-year career with the USDA Forest Service and stepped down as founder/Director of the Eagle Institute, a non-profit formed to protect eagle habitats in the Upper Delaware region of NY and PA. She enjoys hiking, kayaking and visiting children and grandchildren in California, London and New York and splits time between her home in northeast Pennsylvania and Florida.
Dr. Conrad Fischer (Biology) is happy to announce that the guy from the "little state school" is the executive director of the film nominated for Best Documentary Short Film for "Stranger at the Gate," a story of disarming and healing a mass murderer. Dr. Fischer has also been promoted to Professor of Medicine at Touro College of Medicine, which is now the largest private medical school system in the United States.
Brooke Birkel (Psychology) went on to work in healthcare, ensuring compliance for patients. She quickly shifted to IT cybersecurity, where she utilizes the communication skills her degree helped her achieve to become a consultant in the industrial cybersecurity space. Now three years into her career in technology, she works in New York City as an industrial cybersecurity account executive and the only woman account executive at the company. New Paltz gave her the knowledge and confidence to take risks post-college, and she is grateful for that.
