Majors: Geography (Environmental) & Spanish

Minor: Disaster Studies

About Internship Experience: "Certainly the most challenging part of this internship was creating connections with individuals in the organization while working 100% remote. However, overcoming these challenges, while difficult, taught me so much and allowed for my experience as a whole to exceed my expectations. It has been amazing getting to put skills I have learned in my university studies into practice, like GIS and cartography, as well as acquire entirely new skills I had never been exposed to before, like data analytics and marketing. This opportunity has expanded my professional growth tremendously."

Monika Morasse

Major: Mathematics

Minors: Economics & Business Administration

About Internship Experience: "This past summer I had the opportunity to do an internship at Garnet Health Medical Center. It was a ten week internship where I worked with employees with the Legal & Risk Department of the hospital. Internship experiences are so importatnt when it comes to choosing a career that fits with my future. Since I started studying at SUNY New Paltz, I have always wanted to be an actuary. While completing my Bachelors of Science within the major of Mathematics, I have learned a lot that will help me in the career of my choice. Actuarial science is based on risk and probability and this internship has fully prepared me to know when risk is present, specifically in a hospital setting. This knowledge can also help me when predicting risk for all other companies and organizations. I not only learned more about certain career paths I can pursue, but also had the chance to experience a full-time job atmosphere during a global pandemic."

David O'Keefe

Major: Digital Media Production

Minor: Communication

About Internship Experience: "I intentionally followed an internship opportunity that would intellectually, academically, and professionally challenge myself. This summer, I had an unexpectadly fascinating internship experience at John Szefc Mergers and Acquisitions, which will hopefully aid in guiding me towards a clearer professional future. My experience has put me into the right business and communication mindsets for moving forward in this industry."
