Art Portfolio: The Transfer Portfolio
Transfer admission is jointly determined by academic performance and portfolio evaluation. Portfolios are submitted through an online process only.
Requirements
A minimum 2.75 GPA is required for entry into the Bachelors of Science in Visual Arts. A minimum 3.0 GPA is required for entry in the Visual Arts Education program.
Credit for prior college-level coursework
Studio Art courses with a grade of “C” or better may be considered for transfer credit. Art History courses with a grade of “C-”or better may be considered for transfer credit.
Important Online Submission Instructions
Image file size should not exceed 1400 pixels on the longest dimension or 4 megabytes per file. 2D and 3D work in any medium is accepted in JPG or PDF file format.
Time-based work, such as video, is submitted in up-to-3 minute samples of your current work. Video links must be entered in the space provided on the Add Item page.
Your Portfolio
Your portfolio should have a minimum of 12 and a maximum of 27 good quality images of your strongest artwork.
Please label each image with date, medium and dimensions.
Submit your official transcripts with your general application to Undergraduate Admissions.
Statement of Purpose
Submit a Statement of Purpose. For this essay, content, style, grammar and structure are evaluated. You may compose your essay in a word processing program, then copy and paste it into the space provided.
Describe aspects of your work beyond what the portfolio represents. Tell us about your past experiences, your creative interests, and your future goals as an artist. Your statement
should be clear and concise. Note: the essay is limited to 4,000 characters maximum.
