The following revised major plan for Anthropology will go into effect in fall 2024 and applies to students who declare the major in or after that term.

- A minimum grade of C- is required for a course to count toward the requirements of the major.
- Only three (3) credits of Independent Study may be applied to the major unless otherwise approved by the major advisor or the chair of Anthropology.

All majors must complete each of the following by the end of the fall semester of the senior year:
- Attend a total of 6 approved departmental events, with accompanying reflection write-ups.
- Attend one Capstone Seminar Symposium prior to senior year.
- Complete a bibliographic research training session from Sojourner Truth Library.
- Complete research ethics training module (CITI), “Social/Behavioral Research: Social/Behavioral Research Investigators and Key Personnel”
- Complete the following professional development activities: (a) Career Resource workshop on CV/resume preparation; (b) professional academic organization explorations (e.g., AAA, SAA, AABA, SHA, SASci, SfAA)
1Two concentration/elective courses (6 credits) must focus on two different world areas: Asia, North America, South America.
2By advisement, one concentration/elective course may be taken outside Anthropology. The list of approved courses will change over time.
