Outstanding Balances / DPA
Students with outstanding balances for prior semesters receive blocks & holds on their accounts that can:
- Prevent registration for future semesters
- Prevent viewing of their grades
- Accrue additional late penalty fees
- Be sent to an outside collection agency, or to the Attorney General for more fees and further collection proceedings.
This is why SUNY New Paltz offers a Deferred Payment Agreement (DPA) for students that qualify. Enrolling in a DPA ensures your account remains in Student Accounts, and that you won’t accrue additional late fees.
For any student with a balance over $100, we offer a monthly DPA that allows for a payment schedule of up to 12 months on balances under $1,000, and up to 24 months for balances over $1,000. We can also offer flexible payment due dates as well.
Eligible Students:
- Students taking a Leave of Absence
- Students who are graduating or who attending their final semester here at SUNY New Paltz.
