Susan Najork

Susan Najork ’67 ’70g is the retired owner and director of Collection Bureau Hudson Valley, a medical and debt collection company founded in 1974 and based in Newburgh, N.Y. Ms. Najork has two sons, both of whom are executives and owners with Collection Bureau Hudson Valley. 

Ms. Najork has become an active Hudson Valley philanthropist. She has served as president of the boards of Newburgh Day Nursery and St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital, and has served as a member of the boards of the Powelton Club, Calvary Presbyterian Church, Mount Saint Mary College, Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties, and the Community Foundation of Orange & Sullivan Counties. In recognition of her community involvement, she has received several awards, including the Association of Fundraising Professionals’ Outstanding Philanthropist Award, the Ruth and James Ottaway Medal from the Orange County Citizens’ Foundation, the Greater Newburgh Family Health Center Pillars of the Community Lifetime Achievement Award, the United Way’s Neighbors Helping Neighbors Award, the Annie Delano Hitch Award from St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital, and the Heritage Award from the SUNY New Paltz Alumni Association. She currently serves on the SUNY New Paltz Foundation Board.

Ms. Najork graduated from SUNY New Paltz with a B.A. in elementary education (PreK-6 History) in 1967 and an M.S. in elementary education in 1970. Her father, Ronald Dutcher, was a 1938 graduate of New Paltz. Her brother, Stephen Dutcher, was also an alumnus.
