Marybeth Majestic ’82


Marybeth MajesticMarybeth Majestic ’82 is a graduate of SUNY New Paltz, where she earned a bachelor's degree in Political Science with minors in Journalism and Speech Communication. A longtime resident of Gardiner, New York, she served as the town's Supervisor from 2016 to 2025, leading the community through a decade of thoughtful growth and strategic planning.

During her tenure, Majestic championed environmental stewardship, fiscal responsibility, water resource protection, comprehensive planning, and responsible community development and kept the town running during Covid. She worked collaboratively across diverse stakeholders to advance initiatives that strengthened local infrastructure, updated zoning regulations, implemented a town wide ambulance district and preserved the unique character of the Hudson Valley.

Majestic and her husband, Charley, have raised their three children in Gardiner and remain active members of the local community. As a SUNY New Paltz alumna, she is proud to support the University's mission and serve on the Goshawk Committee of the SUNY New Paltz Foundation.
