Mickey Jamal, founder and CEO of CPD Energy, opened his first gas station in New Paltz in 1981, with a vision to double in size every five years and to become the best in the industry. As the number of locations increased Mickey founded the Hudson Valley Dealers Association (HVDA) and created a merchant’s group to leverage marketing and buying power. HVDA later merged with a national buying group called Power Buying Direct with more than 4000 members. Attention to detail, smart decision-making and a strongly customer-centric approach have yielded uncommon results and CPD Energy now operates more than 130 locations across the New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.
Mr. Jamal has been at the forefront of the gas station and convenience store industry in the Tri-State area for over four decades. He served as Chairman of NYACS during 2005 and 2006 and is currently on the Executive Board as Nominee Chairman. He also serves on the NACS Public Affairs Committee. With this wealth of business experience, Mr. Jamal is responsible for strategic planning and new business development at CPD Energy. He lives in New Paltz with his wife, Kay. His son Khaled is an alumnus of SUNY New Paltz.
