Switching between the BFA, BSVA and BA

If a student is accepted into a BFA program from the BSVA, they must follow the plan of study for that specific program.

If a student switches or otherwise leaves a BFA program, they must follow the plan of study for that program. For example, if a BFA student switches back to the BSVA, said student is still responsible to complete all requirements of the BSVA (including the required minor).

The difference between the three degrees offered by the Department of Art as defined in terms of the required minimum number of credits completed in liberal arts courses:

  • 90 LA credits for the Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree
  • 60 LA credits for the Bachelor of Science (BSVA) degree
  • 30 LA credits for the Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree
