Admission to the Accelerated 3+4 Medical Program

This program is open only to entering freshmen.

Admission requirements for the program are identical for both New York Institute of Technology/College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYITCOM) and Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine (TouroCOM).

First admission consideration is to SUNY New Paltz:

• Applications to the accelerated 3+4 medical program must be received (not postmarked) and complete by January 15.
• Applicants must be accepted as a freshman to SUNY New Paltz as a General Freshman Applicant.

Second admission consideration is to the NYITCOM or TouroCOM program after acceptance to SUNY New Paltz:

• Minimum high school average of 93.0 (3.8/4.0) is required.
• Minimum combined (EBRW & Math) SAT score of 1310 or a minimum ACT composite score of 28 is required.
• A personal essay describing reasons for interest in pursuing a career in medicine with an emphasis on osteopathic medicine.
• An on-campus interview with members of the Accelerated 3+4 Medical Program screening  panel.

Notice to Persons Who Have Prior Felony Convictions
State University of New York Board of Trustees policy prohibits SUNY college and  university admission applications from inquiring into an applicant's prior criminal history.  Students who have previously been convicted of a felony are advised that their prior criminal history may impede their ability to complete the requirements of certain academic programs and/or meet the licensure requirements for certain professions, including medicine. 

Individuals with prior criminal histories are advised to seek advice and guidance from the chairperson of the academic department regarding the impact of a criminal record on meeting the requirements of the major/professional licensure or certifications prior to declaring the major.
