About the Kyncl Scholarship
The Robert Kyncl ’95 and Luz Avila Kyncl ’96 STEM Scholarship Fund was established in 2018 to offset tuition costs for underrepresented transfer students entering New Paltz who wish to study computer science or computer engineering.

About the Kyncls
Luz Avila-Kyncl, LCSW, CHC is a licensed psychotherapist, certified health coach, mindfulness teacher, and author, with over two decades of experience working as a family and child therapist, helping adults, children and families suffering from mental, emotional and behavioral issues. A SUNY New Paltz alumna, she is devoted to empowering women, individuals and families as they seek awareness, and provides the necessary tools so they can live happy and fulfilled lives. She is the founder of Luz Kyncl, Psychotherapy, Mindfulness and Health Coaching.
Robert Kyncl is an American business executive. He became the CEO of Warner Music Group on January 1, 2023. He was previously the Chief Business Officer at YouTube where he oversaw all business functions, partnerships and operations. Before YouTube, Kyncl was Vice President of Content Acquisitions at Netflix, where he spearheaded the company's content acquisition for streaming TV shows and movies over the Internet. Mr and Mrs Kyncl reside with their two daughters in Los Angeles and founded Kyncl Family Foundation focused on supporting educational needs of underrepresented communities. Robert holds a Masters of Business Administration from Pepperdine University and a B.S. in International Relations from SUNY New Paltz. He resides in Los Angeles with his wife Luz and two daughters Isabella and Adriana. He grew up in the communist Czechoslovakia.
