Students from other SUNY Campuses
Students who are matrciulated at another SUNY campus may qualify to cross register at New Paltz. Cross registration allows a student to use applicable financial aid to cover the course registration costs at New Paltz.
Before getting started, it is always important to speak to your own college advisor to make sure that taking a course at a host school is right for you. Students will be limited to the same number of credits as non-matriculated students. Students interested in enrolling full time should follow the procedures for visiting students.
STEP 1: SUBMIT the SUNY Cross registration application (All communications for cross registration will be sent through your email address. Please check it frequently to avoid missing important messages.)
STEP 2: HOME CAMPUS REVIEW Your home campus will review your application and decide to approve or deny.
STEP 3: APPLICATION AND PROCESSING New Paltz will receive approved cross registration application from your SUNY school.
- NEXT Submit your personal information form and indicate "SUNY Cross-Register Student".
- Once the form is processed, you will receive a Welcome email with instructions on how to register and information on obtaining course permissions
- You will receive a New Paltz ID number and an New Paltz email address with instructions on how to set up your account.
STEP 4: REGISTER You can register on the date listed for non-matriculated students according to the Academic Calendar
STEP 5: At the end of the semester, your transcript will be uploaded to your home campus for entry in your academic record.
