All applicants to the New Paltz Art program are required to submit a portfolio of work directly to the Art department concurrently with or after application to the College itself. Early submission of portfolios is strongly encouraged.
Following a freshman or transfer portfolio review and once accepted to the Art program, an art student is either a Bachelor of Art (BA) in Visual Art major or a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Visual Arts.
BFA Admission
To enter the Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree program with a concentration in Sculpture, the student must apply to the program through a portfolio review and interview. Students should apply to the BFA program prior to completing 70 credit hours. The Sculpture program conducts interviews every semester before pre-registration.
See the BFA Sculpture Portfolio Requirements and Procedures* for curriculum guidelines and portfolio review requirements.
Please contact the Sculpture faculty to express interest in an interview by e-mailing: bradfors@newpaltz.edu or puthoffe@newpaltz.edu
