Graduate Admissions

The Counselor Education Training Clinic provides Counselors in Training in our graduate programs the opportunity to engage in clinical work under the direct supervision of faculty and licensed mental health professionals. The clinic serves both the SUNY New Paltz student body and the community-at-large by offering targeted, free individual and group therapy. The Counselor Education Department launched the Training Clinic during the Fall 2025 term for an initial small cohort of students enrolled in their internship experience. The clinic will continue to grow and begin to incorporate more Counselors in Training and expand our offerings to the SUNY New Paltz and greater community. Our current offerings include group therapy and unscheduled brief drop-in counseling hours for SUNY New Paltz students. As the clinic grows, we will enhance our offerings and outreach to include support for the community at large with a focus on underserved communities.
