While the Internal Review process is underway, APLI will guide the program lead, department chair, and academic dean in planning revisions to the program’s marketing and, if applicable, for the addition of remote modality deliveries.
Marketing Team
APLI will schedule an initial meeting of the Marketing Team. The Marketing Team includes the Program Lead, Department Chair and/or Program Coordinator, Academic Dean, Undergraduate or Graduate Admissions, and the Office of Communication & Marketing and any other individuals who may have insights valuable to the success marketing of the revised program. Collectively, this team will discuss differences between the existing and revised program and how these changes may impact the marketing collateral and intended audience.
Online/Hybrid Team
If the program revision includes online/hybrid modality, APLI will schedule a meeting with the Program Lead, Department Chair and/or Program Coordinator, Continuing & Online Education, and the Office of Instructional Technology to discuss online training and certification needs and develop a plan as needed to best serve the new program.
Once the revised program has been re-registered, we must close the loop on administrative communication and program maintenance. APLI will take the lead by sharing the program revision summary with the following administrative offices so that they can complete their respective roles:
- Records & Registration will add the revised program and courses to Banner and build the progress report in DegreeWorks. NOTE: There must be a plan for how the original program will be phased out.
- The Program Lead/Academic Unit will need to update department faculty and administrative assistants with new codes, etc.
- APLI will add the revised program and courses to the Graduate or Undergraduate catalog.
- Enrollment Management will add the revised program to Slate.
- Office of Communication & Marketing, Enrollment Management, and/or Undergraduate/Graduate Admissions will update promotional websites.
- Office of Communication & Marketing will launch the marketing plan and print/post new promotional collateral as appropriate to the program.
Typically, the marketing plan will be developed during the external review process and will launch very shortly after the revised program has been re-registered. Please consider how the revisions to the program may be of particular interest to prospective students. Also, be sure to have a communication plan for students who may be completing the original program. Keeping all your marketing materials and websites accurate and up-to-date is an on-going responsibility of each program.
