All in-person classes on Monday, Jan. 26 are cancelled. Classes that are or could occur online are expected to take place.

While the campus can make a local decision on classes, only the Governor of New York may close the campus or provide other directives for staffing at NYS agencies. The New York State Office of Employee Relations has directed state agencies, which includes SUNY campuses, to have all non-essential employees work remotely for the entire day of Jan. 26. Offices will conduct campus business remotely. Employees whose work cannot be accomplished remotely would not report to campus and will not have to charge leave accruals for Jan. 26.

“Essential state employees” are expected to report to work. Employees are designated as “essential” during inclement weather if they are employed in positions that must be staffed to preserve the public safety or welfare of the campus community. If you are uncertain about which category of employee you are, contact your supervisor. Supervisors should ensure that essential employees are aware of appropriate channels of communications for directions and expectations for reporting to campus.

Additionally, the Sojournor Truth Library will be closed on Sunday and Monday, Jan. 25 and 26. The Athletic & Wellness Center will be closed on Sunday with reassessment for possible opening on Monday.

For more information, please review the full Emergency Cancellations and Delays Policy.
